Symantec Trust Seal
Symantec Trust Seal: Boost traffic to your website

The Symantec Trust™ Seal shows the world that Symantec has confirmed your identity and your site has passed the Symantec malware scan. Now any web site, also those without a SSL certificate, can build trust, credibility and loyalty online with the Symantec seal.
Increase traffic, sales and loyalty online by showing customers they can buy, browse, and share personal information with confidence.
What are the key features and benefits of the Symantec Trust Seal?
- Display the #1 trust mark on the Internet: Symantec Trust Seal shows site visitors that the web site is trusted by Symantec, and gives them the confidence to buy, click, signup, sign in or just browse.
- Confirm the identity: Authentification is an established and proven process used by Symantec. The Symantec Trust Seal shows the world that Symantec has verified the identity and the rightful ownership or operator of the web site.
- Stand out in search results: Seal-in-Search is a Symantec seal displayed near the link in search results on enabled web browsers and Symantec partnered sites. This helps the web site stand out from the competition and increase traffic on the web site. Seal-in-Search is enabled through Symantec partnerships with third party technology providers and web site owners. Symantec is working to make Seal-in-Search as prevalent as possible but does not guarantee its availability.
- Protect visitors and their sites from malware: Web site malware scan is a daily review of the web site to help protect it from being blacklisted by search engines and to reduce the risk of infecting customers' computers when they browse the web site.
Why is it more and more important to increase customers' trust?
- 10 times as many consumers feel trust is more important than cost when doing business online (Synovate, 2008).
- 11% of respondents decided not to conduct business with the site because they did not see the Symantec logo (US Brand Tracker Survey, 2009).
- A 10% to 34% increase in online sales and transactions is possible when a Symantec seal is displayed.
- The Symantec seal is displayed 250 million times a day on more than 90,000 web sites in 160 countries. Visitors of a web site are already used to look for the sign.
What is the difference between the Symantec Trust Seal and the Norton Secured® Seal?
The Symantec Trust Seal is an extension of the established and highly trusted Norton Secured Seal. The Norton Secured Seal means that a site is secured by a Symantec SSL certificate and authenticated by Symantec. If you do not collect sensitive information or conduct transactions on your web site or checkout is through a 3rd party service provider, you do not need an SSL certificate. The Symantec Trust Seal provides a cost-effective way to establish trust on a site without installing an SSL Certificate. Note: If your web site uses SSL, you must use Symantec SSL in order to display the Symantec Trust Seal.
