.aero - domains for aviation
The registration of .aero domains is reserved exclusively for companies, organisations, associations, government agencies and individuals (e. g. pilots) that are members of the aviation community. Domain holders may gain a unique authenticity which cannot be achieved by a registration under any other gTLD or ccTLD.
As a so-called “sponsored top-level domain” .aero is managed by SITA (Société Internationale de Télécommunication Aeronautique), which is based in Geneva (Switzerland). SITA is a non-profit organisation which is backed by the aviation industry.
